First thoughts:
I really like the name and I like the overall aesthetic of the OS and the official website. Wallpaper selection is great, default themes are OK. I'm a long time Xubuntu user, so the fact that Enso OS is based on it makes it feel extremely familiar for me. Seems like the beginners wouldn't have any issues with it too. Desktop is clean. Installation process went smooth, since it uses well tested Ubiquity installer.
Some small issues:
- Plymouth "text" (fallback) theme still says "Xubuntu 18.04" instead of "Enso OS 0.3", this should be quite easy to change.
- Changing users on the login screen is confusing, clicking doesn't work (or works randomly), left/right arrows don't work. Maybe you should add a small info somewhere on the screen that up/down arrows and the mouse wheel works? Or display users in a vertical column, not a horizontal row, then up/down would make more sense.
- 'Welcome' app has generic "?" icon, my proposition - https://ibb.co/f4cax8
- Add shortcuts (Documents, Music etc.) to Thunar's side pane, right now it feels empty.
- Change the default avatar, bearded man doesn't represent a "generic" user too well...
- I think that the global menu font shouldn't be bold (or that big). But maybe it looks good on bigger resolution screens. Mine is 1440x900.
- "elementary-xfce-dark" icon set is not present, so it breaks included "elementary-xfce-darker" since it inherits from it. Solution is easy, don't remove "elementary-xfce-dark". Or just add it.
- Separator / empty space behind "Multitasking" on Plank has a "Frank" tooltip. Who is Frank? :) EDIT: I suppose editing this file and deleting "Frank" should do the job?
- GTK theme still needs some tweaks, dark background is visible in some windows - https://ibb.co/k0TCAT (is it GNOME file chooser?)
- On empty desktop, global menu doesn't show the desktop menu after Launchy was opened, it shows "Launchy" instead, clicking on the desktop doesn't help, you need to open and close some app to fix it. TBH, the desktop feels like an "alien", pasted from GNOME/Pantheon to Xfce.
- AppHive crashed once. Can't reproduce.
- Link to the official website on the GitHub page has "http" instead of "https".
Big issue:
- There's something wrong with the "gala -- replace" process, after some time it constantly uses 50-70% of the CPU. It makes the OS almost unusable. Screenshot: https://ibb.co/mYAvEo
Some final thoughts:
This project definitely has a potential, but... The fact that only one person (or not many more) works on it makes me worry about its future (look at what happened to Korora recently). Enso OS looks and feels like a slightly customized elementary OS, but with Xfce as a base. So it should be much faster and more customizable? In theory, but the fact that it doesn't use Xfwm makes it feel a little bit sluggish IMHO. Well, to be fair, that's mostly because that issue with Gala WM. True, Gala has some good looking animations and effects, but I think that the Xfwm would be a better choice for that distro. So, that brings the very important question - why I should use Enso OS instead of elementary OS or customized Xubuntu / Lite Linux? I don't have a good answer to that ATM, that's the biggest issue here, I think.
I will definitely keep an eye on this project, something about Enso makes me want it to succeed. Unfortunately I'm not a developer, so I can't help with the development process at all, but if you need help with something (testing? QA? end-user experience?) let me know, I have time to spend.
Things to consider:
- Xfwm instead of Gala
- Epiphany instead of Firefox (?)
- Official IRC channel on freenode and/or a subreddit
- xfce4-terminal instead of Sakura. Xfce Terminal can look just as good (colors, transparency), it just need a little configuration / changed defaults

I'm currently in the process of comparing Enso OS 0.3 to a customized Xubuntu 18.04 (made to look and feel like Enso), I'll post more information later. I have some interesting thoughts. I'll try to record my desktop and post a link to the video to better show the issues and overall comparison.
